The Anton residence is a 1750 sq. ft., Moroccan styled condominium in Northern Virginia. It features incredible views of Washington DC and the Potomac River. Upon entering the condo, the visitor is faced with an intricate Zellij (mosaic tile) wall fountain and floor. The Zellij background highlights a marble fountain and is framed by carved plaster in the shape of a horseshoe arch. This style of arch is synonymous with Moroccan-Andalusian design and is often referred to as the "Moorish arch". From the entrance area, the condo opens to the main living area, a Zellij wet bar, and the kitchen. The main living area features a custom-built entertainment center, carved wood coffee tables, and sliding Musharabiyyah (lattice screen) doors. The doors open to the balcony and the views of Washington DC and the Potomac. The motif used in the Zellij wet bar is continued in the kitchen and the kitchen features a Zellij backsplash as well. The Moroccan theme is continued in the home office, which features a built-in carved wood desk, with shelf space, and Musharabiyyah doors. The master bath in the condo features wall to wall and floor to ceiling Zellij. This conveyed the client's desire for a warm, but dramatic, master bathroom. The other full bathroom features Zellij flooring, a Zellij bath, and walls partially covered with Zellij.
